Expression de soi et uniformisation
L'Inconnue du banc Public
L'Inconnue du Banc Public
is a new eight-minute movie from French filmmakers In Media Res, and
while the language barrier may scare off most, there's no need to fear:
the movie has no dialogue. Told beautifully through expert
cinematography, sharp editing, strong performaces and an emotive music
score is a universal story of longing. The title translates as The Unknown Girl of the Public Bench,
and the story finds a nine-to-five worker watching from his work desk
window as a happy couple is reunited each day with the man surprising
the title woman with a bouquet of flowers. When the man stops arriving,
the worker becomes obsessed with the lonely young woman leading to a
heartbreaking conclusion. Directed by Jean-Nicolas Gilles and benjamin
Martinez (who also composed the score,) you can see the movie as DIVX,
Windows Media or Quicktime downloads by visiting here. Those English speaking visitors who passed high school French may want to check out the rest of the movie's website at www.idbp.arakneed.com.
